Pro tip: That $3 glass cutting board from Dollar Tree is actually a perfect pastry mat

I was making pie crust last Sunday and realized I didn't have a cool surface, so I grabbed one of those thin glass cutting boards I bought for decoration. It rolled out the dough perfectly without sticking, and for 3 bucks it beats any fancy marble slab I've seen at the kitchen store. Anyone else find weird kitchen uses for dollar store stuff?

Does it leave any scratches on your counter after, @the_wyatt?

Wait, you bought a glass cutting board for decoration? That's a new one to me. People usually grab those for actual cutting or just pass them by. Never thought about using one as a pastry mat, that's actually genius. The Dollar Tree glass ones are surprisingly durable too, I've dropped mine a couple times without it breaking. Does the dough really not stick at all, or do you still need to flour it a bit? I might have to grab one this weekend for my next batch of biscuits.
