Drew a portrait of my cat for 2 hours only to realize I was using the wrong reference photo the whole time

I was sitting at my kitchen table last Tuesday with a charcoal pencil, trying to capture my tabby's stripe pattern from a photo on my phone, but when I looked up at my actual cat sleeping on the couch I saw the markings were completely different, so now I'm stuck wondering if I should finish the wrong drawing or scrap it and start over, has anyone else ever gotten halfway through something before realizing you were working off bad info?

Drew a portrait of my brother once and spent three hours getting his nose perfect only to realize I'd been looking at a photo of our mailman the whole time. My brother still has the drawing hanging in his hallway, thinks it's hilarious.

Is a cat drawing really worth worrying about that much?
