I finally tried those cheap drawing markers from the dollar store and they actually work

Last Tuesday I grabbed a pack of 12 markers for $3 because I wanted to doodle something quick for this group. I figured they'd be dried out or smudge everywhere but the black one actually laid down smooth lines. Then I colored a little tree with the green and it blended okay with my finger. Has anyone else found surprise art supplies that didn't suck?

Oh man, "cat hair and bad decisions" really sums up my whole crafting experience honestly. RIP to those cracked watercolor pans though, that's rough. I had a similar thing happen with a cheap set of pastels where my dumb self left them on the couch and sat on them. Looked like a colorful murder scene on my jeans for a week. But hey, at least the dollar store stuff is cheap enough you can just buy another set without crying over it.

Grabbed a set of those cheap watercolor pans from the dollar store last month thinking they'd be useless but ended up making a halfway decent sunset scene. The oranges and yellows actually mixed good on the page, though the blue turned kind of gray when I overlapped it too much. My cat knocked the whole set off the table though and now half the pans are cracked. Guess that's what happens when you trust budget art supplies on a table full of cat hair and bad decisions.
