Venting about my coworker who said dual monitors are 'overrated'
So I was in the break room at my office last Tuesday and this guy from accounting sees my setup and goes, 'Why do you even need two screens? Seems like a waste of desk space.' I told him I use one for patient charts and the other for scheduling, and he just shrugged and walked away. Like, dude, have you ever tried toggling between windows every 30 seconds while someone's in the chair? It makes me wonder how anyone can get real work done with a single monitor. Has anyone else had to deal with a coworker who just doesn't get it?

Read a study once that said dual monitors boost productivity by like 42 percent.

yeah but that 42% probably drops to like 12% if you're just using the second screen for youtube or twitter which is definitely what i do half the time. i set mine up thinking i'd be a multitasking genius and now one monitor is just a dedicated spot for my email to sit unread while i pretend to work on the other one. i've actually got a third monitor now and i'm pretty sure my productivity went negative because i just spend more time moving windows around. honestly the best productivity hack is probably just closing all the extra tabs and screens but where's the fun in that.
