That $900 quote for a simple bathroom fan replacement made me laugh out loud
I had a guy come out last week to swap a busted bathroom fan in my house near Whyte Ave and he quoted me $900 for a 30 minute job. I ended up doing it myself for $60 and an hour of my time watching a YouTube video. Has anyone else had contractors quote insane prices for basic stuff like this around Edmonton?

Bought a ceiling fan on sale for $80 and swapped mine in under 40 minutes with a basic YouTube tutorial. Saved myself nearly a grand on that one.

Nailed it. YouTube and a little confidence goes a long way. Most people just don't try.
