Vent: Got called out to a 1970s apartment block in Portland for flickering lights. Found a main neutral lug on the service entrance so loose you could spin it with your fingers.

That loose neutral lug you found is no joke. I had the same thing in an old Seattle triplex last year. My go-to move now is to hit every main lug with my torque wrench, even if they look fine. Found a couple on the hot legs that were barely hanging on. It's crazy how much heat a bad connection like that can make over time.

Man, I used to think checking lugs was overkill if nothing looked burnt. Had a call for warm outlets in a kitchen, turned out to be a loose neutral at the panel that looked totally fine. Barely any discoloration. Now I check them all, every time. That one spooked me enough to change my whole routine.

Warm outlets from a neutral? That's wild. @sage286 is right though, heat builds slow but steady on those.
