Hot take: flux pens are way better than jars for small board work

I used to use those little metal flux jars for everything. Would dip my brush in and by the third joint the flux was all crusted up and turning brown. Switched to a flux pen about 6 months ago for SMD work and I'm never going back. Way less mess and I can get right into tight spots without dragging gunk everywhere. Anyone else made the switch or still rocking the old school dip method?

I read once that flux pens are way more consistent with the paste consistency.

Bro wait you actually read that somewhere? Cuz I swear half the time flux pens seem like they're just playing roulette with how much comes out. One squeeze and I either get a tiny bead or a whole puddle running everywhere. Maybe I got a bad batch or something but consistency is the last word I'd use for mine. I've had pens where the tip dries out before I even get through half the tube. Jars at least you can control how much you dip and the paste stays good for months if you close it right.
