My buddy in the shop told me to always check the 5V rail first on a no-power board, saved me like 2 hours yesterday.

Solid tip. I always start there too because it's the most common failure point. Saves so much time.

Wait, you guys only save two hours? When my 5V rail went last month it took me a whole afternoon! @iris_ellis is totally right about it being the first place to look, it just dies so often. I keep a spare regulator on hand now because of it.
