From my toolbox: a simple voltage tester beats digital for quick fixes

Everyone in my shop relies on digital multimeters for every call. After years on the job, I stick with my old voltage tester for most routine issues, and it rarely lets me down.

Elizabeth's point about reliable data is fair, but my old tester has a different kind of truth to it. It's like that friend who gives you a gut feeling instead of hard facts, and my gut has been wrong in some pretty funny ways. I once spent an hour looking for a ghost voltage it swore was there, only to find I'd left my lunchbox on the disconnect. You can't blame the tool for the guy holding it, right?

Simple testers can be misleading, but digital multimeters provide reliable data every time!
