I had to replace a 3-year-old controller in a Chicago high rise last week
The same model failed in a different building last month, and I remember installing a bunch of them back in 2021. Are you guys seeing more early failures with these units too?

We had three of those exact units go out in the last year at a condo building I work with. Honestly, I used to blame power surges or bad installs for early failures. Seeing this many die so young has me convinced it's a bad batch or a design flaw.

Yeah three units in one building is a pattern, not bad luck. I'd check the install date on all of them. If they're from around the same time, it's almost definitely a bad batch of parts. Get the serial numbers and call the manufacturer directly, a group complaint from the building might push them to cover it.
