Last Tuesday was the hardest day of my career as an esthetician
I had three waxing appointments back to back, and one client literally cried through her whole Brazilian because she was so sensitive that day. By the end of it my hands were cramping and I almost broke down in the back room. Has anyone else ever had a day where you just wanted to walk out and never come back?

Saw a dermatologist online say that hormones can make you extra sensitive some days, not much you can do about it. Just one of those rough days we all get.

Wait, are they saying there's really nothing we can do on those extra sensitive days? That feels like a cop out honestly. Is it just about waiting it out or are there actual tricks that work?

Girl, I have BEEN there. My worst day was a bridal party where three of them were on their periods and one hadn't waxed in six months. My hands were shaking by the end and I seriously considered faking a family emergency. The trick that actually saved me was switching to a hard wax with a lower melting point for the super sensitive ones. It grabs the hair without sticking to the skin as much, and I always keep a bag of frozen peas in the back to ice my own hands between clients. Also, a little numbing spray with 4% lidocaine on the area before you start can work wonders on those hormonal days.
