Why does everyone push LED light therapy masks like they're magic?

My mentor told me last year that those masks are just a gimmick and I should stick with chemical peels instead. I tried one for 3 months anyway and honestly saw zero difference in my skin compared to just doing regular peels. Anyone else find LED masks totally overhyped or am I missing something?

Look, I get why people buy into them. They're pretty and influencers make them look like the future of skincare. But I tried the Dr. Dennis Gross one for four months and my skin looked the same. Maybe a tiny bit less red but that could've been from me laying down and not touching my face for 10 minutes. The science on LED for acne or anti-aging is super weak when you actually read the studies. Most of them are tiny or funded by the companies selling the lights. Chemical peels have decades of real research behind them. Your mentor was right. I'd save the money for a good peel session instead of a light up Halloween mask.

People just want a quick button to push instead of putting in the real work.
