My phone died at a concert in Phoenix and I had to get home without a map

I was at the show last Friday and my battery went from 30% to zero in about five minutes. I had no idea which bus to take and the venue was in a part of town I didn't know. I ended up asking a security guard to point me toward the main road and walked for a solid hour. Now I always carry a small power bank in my bag. Does anyone have a good tip for saving phone battery when you're out all day?

I used to think closing apps was enough, but after getting stranded once, I'm team power bank for life.

You really walked an hour in Phoenix? That's rough. I turn my screen brightness way down and close all my apps before a long day out. A power bank is smart, but I find just killing the background stuff makes a big difference.

Yeah, closing apps helps but Phoenix heat just cooks the battery no matter what. I always carry a power bank now, it's a lifesaver.
