Found out my great grandma's 'secret' pie crust recipe came from a 1940s flour bag

I was going through a box of her old kitchen things and found the actual bag of Gold Medal flour. The recipe was printed right on the side. I always thought it was something she made up herself. It's the same one my mom taught me, word for word. Kind of funny how these things get passed down. Has anyone else had a family recipe turn out to be from a product label?

Yeah, my grandma's famous meatloaf was straight off a Lipton soup mix box lol. It's still a great recipe though.

That's just lazy cooking, not a real recipe.

I heard a chef on the radio saying that half the time these old family recipes were just marketing ideas from the 50s or 60s... makes you wonder.
