Showerthought: My old work jacket looked completely different after I washed it wrong
I had this canvas chore coat for about three years, and it was a stiff, boxy shape. Last week, I washed it in hot water by mistake and put it in the dryer. Now it's all shrunken and soft, with a much closer fit. It made me think about how you could design a jacket to look one way new, but change its whole shape after the first wash on purpose. Has anyone else seen a piece designed to transform like that?
It's like clothes have a secret second life. My favorite jeans got softer and fit better after a few washes, which was the opposite of what the tag warned about. The best stuff often breaks its own rules.
