TIL my grandma's fabric scraps from the 70s are worth more than I thought

My grandma passed last month and we were cleaning out her sewing room. Found this huge bin of polyester print scraps she saved from making curtains and dresses. I almost tossed them. My cousin who does vintage reselling stopped me and said a lot of those 70s polyester prints are going for $15-20 a yard on Etsy right now. I had no idea people wanted old polyester that badly. Has anyone else found weird value in old fabric stashes?

Found a box of 80s band tees in my attic last month, same kind of luck.

Yeah I used to roll my eyes at people talking about "vintage finds" and luck like that. Honestly thought they were just trying to make a boring story sound cool or something. But then my wife found a stash of old concert shirts in her dad's basement from the 70s, and I totally get it now. The fabric is so much thicker and softer than the new stuff you get at stores, and the designs actually look like someone cared about them. That kind of find changes how you see secondhand stuff forever.
