My kid's comment about our squeaky door changed my whole approach

My 8-year-old asked me why I was putting up with the annoying sound from our back door instead of just fixing it. I told her I didn't have the right tools, but she pointed out we fixed her toy box with just a can of 3-in-1 oil from the garage. I used it on the door hinges and the squeak was gone in two minutes. What's a simple fix your family has pointed out to you?

What's your kid's best fix-it tip?

Honestly I'd rather let them break stuff and learn from it lol.

Wait, is that the same philosophy you'd apply to me trying to fix my own phone? Ngl, letting me break stuff and learn from it just means I'll end up with three different sized screwdrivers and a half-disassembled laptop that I'll never put back together again. Honestly, your kid probably has a better track record than I do when it comes to learning from mistakes.
