Tried fixing a wobbly chair with a shim pack from Lowes

Picked up a 10 pack of plastic shims for $4 and shoved one under the short leg of my dining chair. Thought it would be a quick fix but the chair still rocked because the leg was twisted, not just short. Had to sand down the bottom of the leg by about 1/8 inch to get it level. Anyone else run into problems where the obvious fix doesn't work because the issue is more than one thing?

That "obvious fix doesn't work because it's actually something else" thing happens with everything. It's like when my car makes a weird noise, I assume it's one thing, but it always turns out to be a totally different part. Makes you wonder how many "simple" problems are really just hiding something bigger.

Ugh yes! It's the same with phone issues too - you think you need a new battery but really the charging port is just full of pocket lint.
