Don't trust the 'self-leveling' label on that new underlayment compound

I had a 400 square foot concrete slab in a Phoenix garage that needed a smooth base for LVP. The specs said 'no mixing, just pour and spread'. I lost a whole day and about $300 in material because it set up way too fast in the heat, leaving ridges and a terrible finish. Had to grind it all down and start over with my old reliable brand. Anyone got a go-to compound for hot climate pours?

Try wetting the slab first next time.

Feel your pain, I've been that guy watching the bucket harden in the sun. Learned the hard way that "self-leveling" is more of a suggestion in extreme heat. What brand did you end up using that worked?
