My fridge looked like a crime scene after a week of meal prep for my sister's wedding

I spent last Tuesday making 50 mini quiches and 3 gallons of pasta salad for the rehearsal dinner. My fridge was just a chaotic stack of containers and spilled sauce. Looking at the photo, I realized I basically only cook for huge groups now! Anyone else get stuck in a single cooking mode after a big event?

That "single cooking mode" thing is so real. I see it happen with my friends who have kids, they just lose the ability to make a normal portion for two people. It takes a conscious effort to scale back down.

Yeah my buddy Mark tried to make a stir fry for him and his wife after his kids went to college. He used a whole family pack of chicken and enough rice to feed a small army. They ate leftovers for a week. He said his brain just defaults to the big pot now, like he's still cooking for four hungry teenagers.

Honestly that "single cooking mode" is real. My friend made a pot of chili so big last week that he had to freeze half of it.
