Shoutout to my neighbor Carol for telling me to toss leftover cranberry sauce into pancake batter
I threw a half jar of jellied cranberry sauce into my Sunday pancakes and it turned into these weird sweet-tart pockets that were actually amazing, has anyone else tried a random jam or sauce in their breakfast batter?

Jellied cranberry is basically jam, not really a sauce, but yeah it works great in pancakes.

Wait, have you actually tried it on pancakes though? Because I did that last Thanksgiving weekend and it was way better than I expected. I just warmed up a slice of the jellied stuff in the microwave for like 10 seconds and poured it over some plain buttermilk pancakes. That sweet and tart combo is perfect, cuts through all the butter and syrup. I might even like it more than regular maple syrup now.
