The gas station that wasn't there when I went back
I was driving home from my sister's place in Dayton, took a wrong turn and ended up on this empty county road. I saw a bright, clean gas station, pulled in, and got a soda. The guy at the counter was humming an old song. When I turned around to leave five minutes later, the whole building was just a boarded-up, overgrown lot. My car was still parked on the cracked pavement where the pumps should have been. Has anyone else driven past a place that just vanished like that?

Man, that is wild but I totally believe it. Something like that happened to me on a back road near Sedona years ago. Stopped at this little diner with a neon sign, had a piece of pie, the waitress called me "hon". Went back the very next weekend to show my friend and it was just a gravel pull-off with some old fence posts. No sign it was ever there, not even a foundation. Still think about that pie.

That pie story from @dylanbarnes is so good! These vanishing spots are just wild. Makes you wonder what's really out there.
