Got tricked by a gnome inside a hotel lobby in Portland
I spotted what looked like a gnome sitting on a chair in the Marriott lobby last month. When I went to take a photo it was actually a small statue glued down. Now I always knock on the hat before I snap a picture to avoid looking silly! Has anyone else run into fake gnomes in weird spots?

Gnome statue glued down? That's just Portland being Portland.

Read someone saying it's actually about the homeless situation, not just quirky Portland stuff. Apparently people keep stealing lawn ornaments to sell for scrap metal or drug money. Glueing them down is the only way to keep anything nice in certain neighborhoods now. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I get why someone would do it. Kinda sad that's what it's come to honestly.
