Swapped to fire spells after 200 hours of ice magic in Skyrim
Used to only use frost magic. Thought it was cool. Then I fought a group of Draugr in a snowy cave near Winterhold. They shrugged off my ice spikes like nothing. Swapped to fireball and cleared the room in 30 seconds. Never going back now. Anyone else stick to one element way too long?

Honestly, I used to be the opposite. I was all about fire magic from the start, thought frost was just for slowing things down. But then I saw a video of a guy freezing a giant solid and shattering it into pieces. That changed my mind completely. Now I mix both, especially against enemies that resist one or the other. Tbh, sticking to one element feels like a trap after seeing how much variety helps.

Sticking to one element feels like a trap" yeah man that's exactly what I told myself for 200 hours lmao. I was so stubborn about frost magic I literally had a mod that made ice spells do more damage just so I didn't have to admit fire was better. Then I hit a horde of Draugr Deathlords in a dark crypt and they just walked through my ice storm like it was a light drizzle. I switched to fireball and watched them all ragdoll into each other. Felt like the meme of that guy touching his head realizing he's been playing wrong the whole time.
