Color correction win after a rough patch

Client walked in with orange ends from a bad home job. Tried a new blue toner mix and it actually worked this time. What's your move for stubborn brass?

What ratio of blue to developer did you end up using for that toner? I've had mixes go sideways if the timing is off. For really stubborn orange, I sometimes pre-treat with a violet shampoo soak for like 10 mins before the toner. Did you do any prep on those ends first?

Wait, the violet shampoo soak first is smart. How long do you usually leave the actual toner on after that? I feel like my ends grab color too fast sometimes.

Ever try a 1:2 ratio with a 10 vol developer? That usually stops my ends from grabbing too fast.
