PSA: I keep seeing stylists use a 1-inch iron on super short pixies
I watched a girl in my salon try to curl a client's inch-long hair with a big barrel and it just flattened everything out. The heat distribution is wrong for that length and you lose all the texture. What's your go-to tool for adding movement to really short cuts without frying it?

My flat iron is only half an inch wide, so what's your favorite technique with a small wand?

Oh man, a half inch wand is perfect for those really defined, piece-y curls. I have one about that size and I basically gave up on full-head curls, it takes forever. My go-to is just doing the front sections and the very ends in the back, it gives that "I tried but not too hard" look (which is my favorite look, honestly). The small barrel lets you get right up to the root for some nice volume too, which a bigger iron just can't do.

Ha, I gave up on that look after I singed my ear for the third time. @hugopark, I just wrap sections and hope for the best.
