inMy grandma's 'secret' ingredient was just a regular jar of mustard
Always thought mustard in meatloaf sounded wrong. My mom used to add a splash of ketchup and that was it. Tried your grandma's trick last night. You're right, it's not strong at all. Just a little zip in the background. Might keep doing it.

inPSA: I keep seeing stylists use a 1-inch iron on super short pixies
Ha, I gave up on that look after I singed my ear for the third time. @hugopark, I just wrap sections and hope for the best.

inPro tip: The $5 cash envelope for gas beat my card every time this month.
My grocery bill dropped 30 bucks last week just from leaving my card at home.

inI spent two days debating shellac flakes vs. pre-mixed for a 1920s dresser and I'm so glad I went with the flakes
Yeah, that "thick, sticky look" is the worst. My buddy tried shellac on a table without thinning it first. Ended up with these weird, gummy streaks all over the surface. He tried to fix it by adding more, which just made it a bigger mess. Had to strip the whole thing back to bare wood and start over. He learned the hard way that thin coats are the only way to go. Now he always keeps the denatured alcohol right next to the can.

inJust realized my grandma's apple pie crust went from tough to perfect after I switched from a food processor to my hands for mixing, which she told me to do 15 years ago.
Wait, you only mixed it for 45 seconds? That feels way too short, I always thought you had to work it until it looked like sand. My crusts always get tough if I don't mix enough, so hearing that such a quick mix made it better is blowing my mind. I guess the heat from your hands and the processor can really mess it up fast. I'm going to have to try the super quick finger method next time.
