Saw a huge difference in a 320 excavator's swing after switching hydraulic fluid brands

My machine was getting a bit sluggish on the swing, especially in cold mornings. Switched from the generic bulk stuff to a premium synthetic blend about two months ago. The swing is way smoother and faster now, anyone else notice a big change just from the fluid?

Totally agree, it's not just speed. I switched to a better fluid in my old 330 and the whole swing just felt tighter, less of that weird lag when you reverse direction. Made fine grading a lot easier.

We ran a test on our 320 last year with three different fluids. The swing speed difference was maybe 2%, nothing you'd really feel in the seat.

2% swing speed diff is actually pretty noticeable for some pilots, especially on longer flights.
