I found a new way to make old jars look pretty for free

I used to just wash out old jam jars and put them in the recycling. A couple of weeks ago, I was cleaning out my grandma's pantry and found a box of old lace scraps she'd saved. On a whim, I cut a strip and tied it around a plain jar with some twine. It looked so sweet on my kitchen windowsill holding some dried lavender. Now I save every jar and look for bits of fabric, ribbon, or even pretty pages from old books to wrap around them. It costs nothing and makes my whole kitchen feel more like a little country cottage. I've made about five so far and they're my favorite thing to look at while I do dishes. What do you all do with your old jars?

The milestone matters because it made me realize how much of the craft is just in your hands now, the feel for the puddle and the travel speed. You stop thinking about every single move. But it also scared me a little, because you can get sloppy when things feel that automatic. I caught myself skipping a pre-heat step on some thick plate last Tuesday just because I was in a rhythm.
