My peace lily surprised me when I skipped the misting

I've had this peace lily for about a year, and it always looked a bit sad. I read online that misting helps with humidity, so I did it every morning. But the leaves kept turning brown at the edges. On a whim, I stopped misting altogether and only watered it from the bottom. Within a month, the plant looked greener and even bloomed for the first time. I know a lot of plant folks swear by misting, but for me, it seems to do more harm than good. Maybe it's just my home's air, but I'm happy with how things turned out. That little white flower made my whole week.

Ever think your tap water might be the culprit for the brown tips? My peace lily used to get them until I switched to leaving a jug of water out overnight before using it, seems the chemicals in tap water settle out.

Yeah the brown edges thing is real. My fern did the same until I started misting it. Funny how the same tip can wreck one plant but fix another.
