After a decade on steel, I'm done with the big morning feed
All the old hands tell you to load up on carbs and protein first thing to power through. I did that forever and just felt bloated and sleepy by my first coffee break. These days, I grab a couple hard-boiled eggs and an apple, and I swear my balance and grip feel steadier. Maybe we're all just copying what our foreman did without thinking if it really works.
Back when I worked concrete, I forced down pancakes and sausage every morning. Started skipping the carbs for some yogurt and berries, and I stopped crashing before lunch. Old habits die hard, but feeling better is worth it.
