Finally caught the plot holes in 'Primer' after 4 rewatches this week

I spent this entire week rewatching Primer every night, and on Thursday night around 2 AM it finally clicked. There are like 3 distinct timelines I never noticed, especially the one where they swap the fail-safe box. My buddy Mark told me to map it out on paper, so I did, and now I see the whole thing is a mess of bootstrap paradoxes. It was super satisfying to spot the moment where the timeline splits in the garage scene. Has anyone else found a hidden timeline in a movie that took them forever to crack?

honestly you're right. i used to be the guy overanalyzing every plot hole and theme like i was writing a film essay or something. but after a few bad movie nights where i just stressed myself out trying to find hidden meaning, i kinda saw how dumb that was. your post actually made me realize i was missing the point of just sitting back and letting the movie do its thing. now i just try to enjoy the ride even if it doesn't make total sense. its way more fun that way.
