Found a floral print couch at the Goodwill in Toledo for $40 and it smelled like old cigarettes for three days
I threw a cup of baking soda on it and let it sit for 24 hours then vacuumed it all up and now it barely smells at all, has anyone else tried that trick on a thrifted couch?

Oh man, the thrifted couch smell struggle is so real. Baking soda is a lifesaver for that kind of thing. I've also done the white vinegar in a spray bottle trick for a musty ottoman I found, just spritzed it lightly and let it air out for a day. Your mileage may vary of course, but sometimes you gotta get creative with those Goodwill finds.

oh man, my friend tried that exact same thing with a thrifted armchair she got from a garage sale. she said the baking soda trick worked but then she had to leave the windows open for like two more days to get the last bit of smell out.
