My $20 harbor freight winch actually saved my truck today
I was out on a trail near Sedona yesterday and got high centered on a rock... totally my fault for taking a bad line. Figured I'd test out that cheap winch I bought on a whim a few months back. It pulled me out in about 5 minutes, no struggle at all. Thought for sure it would burn out on the first real use, but nope... anyone else had luck with budget gear holding up when it matters?

Harbor freight gear is hit or miss. Winches are simple machines though. A cheap motor with proper wiring can surprise you.
