I finally got my corgi to wear a hot dog bun costume for Halloween

Last year at the neighborhood costume parade, my corgi kept shaking off the bun part until a little kid pointed and yelled "look at the naked wiener!" and that embarrassing moment finally made me add velcro straps. Has anyone else had a costume fall apart mid-parade and had to get creative with fixes?

ngl i think you're giving that kid way too much credit lmao. the bun was probably already falling off before he yelled, corgis are just masters at wiggling out of stuff. velcro is honestly the only way to go with these stubborn little loafs, i had to sew snaps into my dog's hot dog costume after he escaped at a block party and ran straight into a bush. the real trick is putting the straps under their belly so they can't reach them to chew, or just accept that your corgi will always look like a half-undressed weenie by the end of the night.

half-undressed weenie haha that got me good @fiona332. but hold up, i gotta push back on one thing. you said velcro is the way to go but velcro is actually the enemy here lol. i tried velcro straps on my guy's corgi costume for halloween and that stuff picks up every piece of dirt and leaf and crumb in a five foot radius. by the end of the night his costume looked like a burrito with grass clippings stuck to it. snaps are way better, or even those little magnetic clasps if you're fancy. the underbelly strap trick is genius though, i never thought of that.
