My cat figured out how to open the screen door on our porch
I came home from work yesterday and found my orange tabby Milo just lounging on the deck like he owned the place. I knew I left him inside. Turns out he shoved the bottom of the screen door hard enough to pop the latch loose. Now I gotta figure out how to lock it from the inside without blocking the cat flap. Anyone else had a cat that learned to break out like that?

Flip the latch around so it opens away from the inside. That'll stop him from shoving it out but still let you use the cat flap.

...but have you watched him actually do it? Because I had a similar thing with my cat and it turned out he was just leaning on it a certain way and the latch wasn't really broken. Might be worth sitting outside and watching what he does when he wants out. Also, those magnetic screen door closures can be a lifesaver for cats that are smart enough to figure out latches. Your mileage may vary though, some cats just get obsessed with going outside and will keep trying no matter what you do.
