Swapped the expensive cat bed for a plain cardboard box, cat agrees

I spent 60 bucks on a heated orthopedic bed last winter and my cat ignored it for 3 months. Then my neighbor dropped off a delivery box from Amazon and the cat slept in that every single night. Has anyone else given up on fancy pet furniture and just let the box win?

I was the guy who swore by expensive cat furniture for years, but after watching my $40 tower sit untouched while the cat camped out in a shoebox, I finally get it. The box wins every time, no question.

It's honestly a universal law at this point. Cats have this weird radar for the most inconvenient, cheapest thing in the house and decide that's their throne. Like we're just out here paying for the privilege of watching them pick a brown paper bag instead.
