Spent $60 on a fancy rice cooker that I still can't figure out
Bought a Zojirushi on impulse after reading all those rave reviews. Now I've got a cabinet full of crunchy rice and a manual that might as well be in Japanese. Anybody else waste money on kitchen gear that just sits there?

You ever notice how everything nowadays comes with this promise of being life changing but zero instructions that actually make sense? I swear it's not just rice cookers either. I bought a "smart" thermostat last year and spent two hours trying to figure out why it wouldn't connect while my old basic one worked perfect for ten years. We're living in this weird time where things are supposed to make life easier but they just add more steps and more junk sitting around.

Honestly, I gotta say something here. That Zojirushi is actually super simple once you get past the manual, it’s not as complicated as it looks. The crunchy rice thing is probably just you using too little water or not pressing the right button for the white rice setting. Tbh, I’d give it another shot with the basic measuring cup that came with it, one cup of rice to that line inside the bowl. Ngl, I felt dumb for a week with mine too, but now it’s the best kitchen thing I own.
