Appreciation post: dosing kalkwasser on a drip saved my alk swings
I was chasing pH and alkalinity for months with two-part and kept bouncing from 7.8 to 8.4 every other day. My torch corals would look fine one week then recede the next. A guy at my LFS in Nashville told me to try a simple kalk drip at night. I set up a 5 gallon bucket with a cheap dosing pump dripping 3ml per minute and now my alk sits at 9.0 steady for two weeks straight. Has anyone else dropped two-part for kalk and seen less stress in their LPS?

Kalk drip is the way to go honestly. I made the switch a few months back and my hammers stopped acting moody overnight. Less gear to mess with too which is a bonus.

Overnight? I've been fighting with my hammers for six months trying different dosing methods and they still look at me sideways. That's some kind of reef voodoo you've got going on there.
