Tried adding a wavemaker after a dude at the LFS told me my flow was weak
He watched my torches for like 30 seconds and said 'dude your flow is way too gentle, that's why they're not extending'. I set up a Jebao just for random intervals, now my corals actually sway and open up way more than before. Anybody else have a random guy at the fish store call out something obvious you were missing?

My buddy Jeff had a guy at the LFS tell him his return pump was way too small just by looking at his skimmer cup, swapped it out and everything perked up in a week. Always funny how a fresh set of eyes catches the dumb stuff you've been staring at for months.

I'm not so sure that was just about the return pump though. A skimmer cup looking off can mean a dozen different things, and swapping pumps might have just been the cheapest fix they had on the shelf.
