Swapped my box cutter for scissors on soda can birds

Used to cut all my feather shapes with a box cutter and it was such a pain. Would always slip and cut my thumb or mess up the curve on a wing. Last month I grabbed a pair of small embroidery scissors from my wife's craft drawer just to try it. Now I can get those tiny jagged edges on tail feathers way cleaner. Has anyone else switched tools mid-project and felt dumb for not doing it sooner?

My wife walked in on me using her pinking shears on some scrap cardboard once and thought I'd finally lost it. Started explaining about how the zigzag edge helps grip when you're trying to line up pieces for gluing. She just stared at me and told me to throw away the cardboard before I tracked little shreds all over the kitchen floor. Anyway, back on topic, yeah those little scissors are a game changer for the delicate stuff. I tried using them on a soda can robin last month and got the wing feathers looking almost real.

Wait, really? I always thought pinking shears were just for fabric, but that actually makes a ton of sense lol.
