Switched from foam panels to moving blankets for my vocals booth last month
I used to cover my closet walls with those cheap foam squares from Amazon but they never killed the reflections enough. Spent $40 on 6 moving blankets from Harbor Freight and draped them over mic stands and the difference is night and day. Anyone else ditch the foam for something weird and cheap?

Oh man, that tracks with so much stuff. People spend stupid money on the "official" version of something when the cheap redneck solution works just as well or better. It's like that with everything from car repairs to cooking gear. I see it at work all the time with kids who need the expensive brand name sneakers when the Walmart ones do the same job. The moving blanket trick is a good reminder that marketing usually wins over practicality. Enjoy your dead vocals.

Hell yeah @gibson.oliver, I used a folded up mattress topper once and it worked perfect.
