Fell for a $250 'restoration' kit for old windows and it was a total scam

I found a bunch of old wooden windows in my basement from the 1920s, thought I'd fix them up. Bought this kit online with special putty and tools, supposed to make them look new. Followed every step, and the stuff just crumbled off after a month. Now I've got half-finished windows and no way to get my money back. Anyone else get burned by those DIY restoration kits?

Got ripped off pretty bad myself with one of those kits last year. I get how mad you must feel right now because I was furious when my window glazing just cracked and fell out after a few weeks. These companies market them like miracle fixes but they're just selling cheap putty and basic tools you could get at a hardware store for thirty bucks. I wasted almost two hundred dollars on a set that came with this weird silicone stuff that never even dried right. Feels like they know old window owners are desperate and just cash in on that. Sorry you got stuck with the same garbage.
