Just realized I used to dunk my Model M spacebar in dish soap and scrub it with a toothbrush, now I just blast it with compressed air and call it a day
Switched over after I accidentally chipped the plastic on my 1987 IBM while scrubbing too hard, has anyone else gotten lazy with their cleaning routine and regretted it later?

Honestly I used to think people were overreacting about being gentle with old keyboards but then I saw a photo of someone's Model M with a chunk missing from the spacebar and it completely changed my mind. Now I'm just paranoid I'll crack mine if I breathe on it wrong.
