Spent 6 months cleaning NES pins with isopropyl alcohol that was too weak
Finally grabbed 91% instead of 70% and the games I thought were dead booted up first try, anyone else been running the wrong percent this whole time?

Oh man, I was doing the same thing with 70% for like two years. Thought my copy of Mega Man 2 was permanently toast, but nope it just needed the good stuff. Now I'm going back through my whole collection like a mad scientist trying to bring everything back to life. Feels like I've been using dollar store windex on antique paintings this whole time.

See, I kinda disagree with the "dollar store windex" thing. 70% is fine for most of my games if I'm just cleaning off dust or light grime... I've been using it for years on my SNES carts and never had a problem. 90% is definitely better for the really nasty, sticky stuff where you can see the corrosion starting, but for a regular clean I don't think it's ruining anything. It's more about how you apply it and making sure you don't soak the label or get it down into the pins too heavy.
