Spent $80 on a 'tough' multi-tool and it snapped on a stuck bolt last weekend

Man I'm still ticked off about this. I saw this multi-tool at the hardware store, looked solid, all metal, claimed to be some heavy duty workhorse. Dropped $80 on it thinking I was set for like years of random jobs around the house. First real test came Saturday when I had a rusted bolt on my truck's bumper. Used the pliers part to get some leverage, and the whole pivot pin just sheared off clean. Tool completely split in two, useless now. I felt like such a sucker standing there holding two pieces of junk. Anyone else get burned by a tool that looked bomber but fell apart on the first real job?

Figured this would happen to someone else. These things are designed to look tough on the shelf but the actual metal is garbage. They use the cheapest alloy they can find and just paint it up all rugged looking. I learned this the hard way when my "indestructible" multitool's wire cutters chipped on a coat hanger of all things. You're better off buying a name brand version used on ebay for half the price, at least then you know the metal is real.

Used to think those off brand tools were just as good, but after seeing this I'm totally changing my mind. That sucks man, eighty bucks gone just like that makes me want to stick with the stuff I know works.
