Used my phone case as a hammer for a picture hook, screen cracked in 4 places
Last Tuesday I was hanging a shelf in my kitchen and couldn't find the actual hammer. My stud finder kept beeping false too, but that's another story. So I grabbed my thick rubber phone case and used the corner to tap a nail in. First few taps felt fine, then the case slipped and the phone smacked right into the nail head. Cracked the screen diagonal, top to bottom, plus two spider cracks near the camera. Repair quote was $139. The picture hook went in perfect though, so I guess that's a win? Has anyone else damaged something way more expensive than the tool they were trying to replace?
