Just realized my go-to glue gun gave out on a big craft project last night
I was finishing up a set of 25 handmade ornaments for a local craft fair, and my trusty glue gun just stopped heating. It's a basic model I got at a store in Madison about two years ago. The trigger still clicked, but the glue came out cold and useless. I had everything laid out, ribbons and beads ready to go, and then nothing. I ended up having to run to the 24-hour big box store at 10 PM to grab a new one, which set me back about $15. The whole night got pushed back by over an hour. Has anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible moment? What's your backup plan for something like this?

Man, that exact thing happened to me with my old glue gun. I was trying to fix a broken picture frame and it just went cold on me. Now I keep my old one, even if it's kinda crusty, in the bottom of my craft box as a backup. It's not pretty but it'll get you through a crisis until you can buy a proper replacement. That panic run to the store is the worst feeling.

My old rotary cutter died right as I was cutting the last piece of fabric for a quilt. The blade just locked up. I keep a cheap backup pair of fabric scissors in my drawer now for exactly that kind of panic.
