My stance on filler over metal work totally changed after a botched fix

I used to think slapping body filler on deep dents was fine to save time. Then I worked on a sedan with a nasty door crease and just filled it without pulling. A couple months later, the whole area cracked and the paint bubbled. The customer was furious, and I had to redo the entire panel from scratch. Now I always use a stud welder and puller, even for small jobs. It ticks me off when I see other shops rush through and use too much filler. I'm done taking shortcuts that come back to bite me. Solid metal work might take longer, but it holds up and keeps people happy.

That "holds up" lesson applies everywhere, not just body work.

True, like @hugopark said, it's about good habits over quick fixes everywhere.

Oh man, I actually said "holds true" not "holds up" lol. But yeah, same idea. It's all about sticking with the boring, steady stuff that works long term. Quick fixes just fall apart.
