Took me 5 years to switch from Bondo to Evercoat and I'm kicking myself

I used to swear by that cheap Bondo brand filler from Home Depot because it was what I learned on back in 2013. Then last month I grabbed a quart of Evercoat Rage Gold on a job at a shop in Phoenix and the difference in sanding was night and day. My question is what else am I missing out on that I think is fine but is actually junk?

Man the first time I tried Rage Gold I almost got mad at myself for wasting years on that pink Bondo garbage. It sands so smooth it feels like cheating compared to the Home Depot stuff. I remember using the cheap filler on a classic car hood and having to recoat it three times because it kept pinhole city on me. Switched to Evercoat for good after that and won't go back. The only other thing I can think of is those cheap disposable mixing boards, once I got a metal one it cut down on waste way more than I expected.

Hold up, I gotta push back on that one. Honestly, that pink Bondo stuff has saved my butt more times than I can count when I'm working on a tight budget or a quick fix on a beater car. Ngl I've used Rage Gold and yeah it sands nice but it's way too stiff for certain spots, like if you're doing a patch on a flexible plastic bumper it'll crack out on you. I've had pinhole issues with the cheap stuff too but that's usually user error - if you don't mix it perfect or put it on too thin it'll do that with any filler. Tbh I'd rather spend the extra time on prep and save the cash for something else on the build.
